Ten Things About Me As A Reader (4)

In the next couple of weeks, I'll be doing a weekly post that is a little more personal than the ones I usually post on the blog. Every week, I'll be listing ten things about me as a reader, until I reach 100. It can be anything relating to reading or books, as long as it also has to do with me - otherwise it wouldn't be Ten Things About Me As A Reader, right? :) This is the fourth week, so here are Things 31 - 40!

31. I started using a book journal last year, but I read too quickly to keep up #bookwormproblems
32. One of the downsides of having a Kindle is that you don't get the satisfaction of throwing your book across the room when you're annoyed.
33. I only stop reading when I arrive at a new chapter, part of the book, or the end of the book. It's impossible for me to stop reading in the middle of a page.
34. I usually don't read books in a series back to back, because I want series to last longer. I feel like when I read it all at once, it's over too quickly.
35. I absolutely hate insta-love with a passion.

36. I've discovered some of my favorite series through book blogging. For example: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins was a series that I had seen in stores a lot, but didn't want to pick up because of the gruesome premise. I'm so glad I decided to read it anyway because it's freaking fantastic.
37. When I read, I close myself off from the rest of the world. My parents always think I just ignore them when they're talking to me, but I really don't hear them when I'm engrossed in a book.
38. I'm a collector. I have books I bought years (YEARS!) ago that I still haven't read. I really should get to that.
39. While Deathly Hallows is my favorite Harry Potter book, Philosopher's Stone is the book in the series that I've read most often.
40. My favorite books when I was a teenager (gosh, makes me sound old!) and I still read some books, where the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson books. I was so obsessed with them that I started my own diary with snarky remarks to just about everyone around me.

----------------------

These little facts make me think about myself and my reading habits quite a lot! It's fun to write a post like this one - really makes me think about myself and my reading habits.

That's it for this week. Next week I'll have another ten things :)

    1. LOL well I was very annoyed with one particular book last week but I couldn't throw it across the room because I read it on my Kindle xD

It's a bit sad that books are so long on the shelves, isn't it? I've got books from even before 2009 that I haven't read yet, but in my defense most of those are adult contemp/chicklits and I'm just not feeling those right now.

Yay for re-reading HP books! It's part of their magic that you can pick one up and be sucked into the story all over again :)

    2. I could never "hurt" my kindle I love it too much lol

You're right about not being in the mood to read a certain genra sometimes. I personnaly go through different phases where I only want to read contemporary, and then paranormal or romance....But most of the books collecting dust on my shelves were new released books that I was DYING to dive into right away and never did :-(
And #36 is not really helping me either lol (the amount of books i have discovered, bought and read thanks to blogs is insaaaaaane !!!!)

  3. OMG! I know what you mean about the Kindle and throwing! It's a big problem. I did once throw it in my bead though. It brought a little satisfaction, haha. I also can't stop if it's not a chapter or end, etc. But, as my bf kinda dislikes me reading too much and interrupts me at random, I've learned to take breaks! But I don't like actually leave it at random.

  4. Oh, I love the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson!! They have a tendency to make me laugh out loud in public places, which I always enjoy. :)

The Philosopher's Stone has a special place in my heart, as the book that sucked me into Harry's world, but The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite. Sirius and Lupin are two of my favourite characters.
