On My Wishlist (22)

In On My Wishlist I spotlight books that I'm really looking forward to. I know there's a meme Waiting on Wednesday and there even are others, but I'm going to rebel and do it how I want it (hehe). I'll feature the synopsis as posted on Goodreads and put a linkie to the Goodreads page of the book. This week: Variant by Robison Wells.

Variant by Robison Wells
Publication date: October 4th, 2011

Synopsis
Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life.

He was wrong.

Now he’s trapped in a school that’s surrounded by a razor-wire fence. A school where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into groups in order to survive.

Where breaking the rules equals death.

But when Benson stumbles upon the school’s real secret, he realizes that playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than death, and that escape—his only real hope for survival—may be impossible.

This is another title that I've wanted since I first heard about it. It sounds awesome, and because it's a dystopian novel it immediately got my "need to have that asap"-stamp. I've heard great things about it and that helps (or not, depends on how you look at it!), too. I can't wait til I have this book in my hands and I can start to dig in - because it sounds like the kind of book that has me on the edge of my seat while reading. WANT!

  1. Well Variant is not really a dystopian novel I don't know why publishers describe every YA book out there as "dystopian" but it is AWESOME and you should definitely read it :-)
