[Get Read-y] Fourth Check-in

In December we get read-y for 2012! We read away those review copies, or those 2011 titles that we still haven't read so we can have a nice and clean start for the New Year! With so many amazing titles coming out in 2012, you might be a little overwhelmed with the amount of books to read.. But fear not! Get Read-y is here to help you lower your TBR pile :) For the introduction post with all information, click here!

-----------

It's time for the fourth check-in for Get Read-y! I hope everyone had a good time during the holidays :) With the end of the holidays, we're nearing the New Year and there are only three days left of December. Can you believe how fast time is passing by? I certainly can't!

Because of the holidays, I haven't read much this week. I've managed to read one book and read part of a second. That's not too bad, I guess, considering the fact that I 'lost' three reading days so I'm happy :) I read If I Tell by Janet Gurtler, which was once again a fantastic read (if you haven't read anything by Janet Gurtler yet, I highly recommend you do!). I also started on My Scorching Summer Diary by Liz Rettig, but I wasn't able to finish it just yet. I like it so far, so I'm sure it'll be easy to finish before the month is over.

How did you do this week? Did you manage to get any reading done despite (or maybe thanks to?) the holidays? Let me know in the comments!

As 2011 is coming to a close, so is Get Read-y for 2012. There will be a wrap up post in the first week of the new year to finish up everything and to share your experiences. There's still a couple of days to 2011, so I hope everyone will enjoy those days and will have a great and safe New Year's Eve. I will see you all in 2012! :)

  1. I had a far better week than the previous one. I finished two books. I am happy because with that I was able to complete yet another challenge. There are two books that I am reading and hope to finish them in the remaining days.

  2. I finished about 4-5 books I was supposed to finish! :D Which is grand! I'm trying to really finish whatever I can before the end of the year. :D

  5. Well, I did rather poorly getting Read-Y. Have a number of books started and six that I for sure want to get read before next week...so, three days and seeing what I can get done.

Happy reading into the New Year!

  7. Here's my check-in: http://thetoweringpile.blogspot.com/2011/12/get-read-y-for-2012-fourth-check-in.html

I'm on track! The holidays actually helped me, since I get a week off work. :)

  8. I'm still doing well.

From my list, I almost finished the one-but-last book (makes a total of 10) - the last book I will not be able to read because I never got it from the library, I reserved it more than a month ago but it never got there yet.

I did read 3 more books that were not on my list (total of 5) and I wrote 5 more reviews (total of 18). So, big numbers!

  9. I'm doing ok, with 15 reviews in total scheduled or published. Have a few more to go, but it's obvious that I'm postponing to read/review certain books. Maybe it's a sign that I should give up on those and move on to books that do call to me :)
My main challenge atm is to finish 6 (!) books in order to reach my 100 books Goodreads goal. Coz you know, I gotta have that badge o__O

Oooh you're doing great! You got a lot of reading done! I might check some of those titles out on Goodreads, too.

But five books is awesome! No need to be disappointed with that!!

If you've already started those, I'm sure you can totally finish them before 2012! Maybe do a little read-a-thon these last three days? *idea*

    You're welcome! :)

Yay for being productive! Six books finished and two 'out of the way' is awesome! I might take your example and continue to read review books in January, too. Good luck with your stack! :)

18 reviews?! Holy smoke.. That's incredible! You're doing amazing! *is a bit jealous of your review-writing-skills*

15 reviews?! Jeesh, I feel like such a slacker now xD Well done! Six books is a lot to read in three days, but it's not impossible.. Maybe do a little read-a-thon? Grab some short reads to make it to 100? *tries to think of more ideas* hope you make it!! *sending you good reading vibes* :)

  19. I've actually had an okay reading week! I read 'Nickolai of the North' for a little festive cheer before Christmas. After that I read 'Lia's Guide to Winning the Lottery' off my TBR pile, and now I'm reading 'Direct Red', a surgeon's autobiography, also from Mount TBR.

I'm taking part in a 72-hour read-a-thon right now over at LibraryThing so I'm hoping to finish a couple more books by Jan 1st if I can. I'm not doing very well so far, thanks to a horrible headache last night and guests arriving today, but I have high hopes!

  20. Only read 6 books this week, bringing total to 42. But I still have a lot more to read, so that number will go up! So will the reviews! I wrote 2 1/2 review, so reviews are now at 32 1/2. Which is a bit sad, but I will get more! Yep. Happy reading!
