On My Wishlist (14)

In On My Wishlist I spotlight books that I'm really looking forward to. I know there's a meme Waiting on Wednesday and there even are others, but I'm going to rebel and do it how I want it (hehe). I'll feature the synopsis as posted on Goodreads and put a linkie to the Goodreads page of the book. This week: Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts.

Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts
Expected publication date: November 1st, 2011

Since mankind began, civilizations have always fallen: the Romans, the Greeks, the Aztecs…Now it’s our turn. Huge earthquakes rock the world. Cities are destroyed. But something even more awful is happening. An ancient evil has been unleashed, turning everday people into hunters, killers, crazies.

Mason's mother is dying after a terrible car accident. As he endures a last vigil at her hospital bed, his school is bombed and razed to the ground, and everyone he knows is killed. Aries survives an earthquake aftershock on a bus, and thinks the worst is over when a mysterious stranger pulls her out of the wreckage, but she’s about to discover a world changed forever. Clementine, the only survivor of an emergency town hall meeting that descends into murderous chaos, is on the run from savage strangers who used to be her friends and neighbors. And Michael witnesses a brutal road rage incident that is made much worse by the arrival of the police--who gun down the guilty party and then turn on the bystanding crowd.

Where do you go for justice when even the lawmakers have turned bad? These four teens are on the same road in a world gone mad. Struggling to survive, clinging on to love and meaning wherever it can be found, this is a journey into the heart of darkness – but also a journey to find each other and a place of safety.

Where do I even start when I want to tell you why I am so looking forward to reading this book? It's a post apocalyptic story. It has zombies. People have been talking about how awesome it is. It's a 2011 YA debut. What more could I possibly ask for?! It looks amazing and I can't wait for this book to come out. I might even give in and order the UK edition because that one appears to be published almost 2 months before the US edition. I cannot wait!

  1. I read this book last week and I loved it. I read it within 24 hours because I just couldn't put it down. (oh and I was at work that day) The book is incredible. I do think that goodreads synopsis says far too much, not that it spoils anything major, but it does spoil you finding out everything for yourself.
This maybe my favourite book this year, or at least one of them. I'm sure you will love it. I'm from the UK so that's why I've read it already, but if I was you I'd order that edition because it's amazing.

  2. It's funny, for some reason I would never see this as a zombie book, but then the harder I stared at the cover, it started making sense. I realized that those creepy figures walking towards me were the zombies, lol. Never heard of it before, but I have definitely added it to my wish list now. (I'm totally team zombie, so anything about them I HAVE to read!)

  3. I didn't know you wanted to read Dark Inside!

  4. Yeah I really want to read it! I don't have the money to buy a copy right now, so I guess I'll have to wait to grab me a book :( *pouts*
