In My Mailbox (52)

Another Sunday, another In My Mailbox! In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi over at The Story Siren where we show what book(ish thing)s we got this week. It's another small week for me - which means I'm doing good on my slow-down-the-book-buying-time! Here's this week's vlog :)

Tadaa! I'm really proud of myself. I have plenty of books here that are waiting for me to read them, so that motivates me as well to slow down the book buying. I want to read some classics, which is why I got the books by Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters. I haven't read any classics in school (except Animal Farm, which I hated) so I have a lot of catching up to do. I read tons of (new) YA books but I really want to read some other stuff as well, and those are high up my list.

I'm very excited to read Birthmarked as I got the eGalley for Prized in a couple of weeks ago; plus it just sounds great!

That's all for me this week! What did you get in your mailbox? Happy reading :)

  6. Sometimes I think the same thing, that I want to get back into some of the classics, since I have been reading SO MUCH YA ever since I started my blog-- actually, before I started my blog I read almost exclusively historical non-fiction biographies, mostly of the kings and queens of England and France. Haha, interesting fact about me ;)

I hope you enjoy Jane Eyre and all the other awesome books you got this week!

You can see my IMM post for this week at the link below- Happy Reading!!

  7. Yay for classics! Wuthering Heights was one of those novels that had me really frustrated the entire time, but I really enjoyed it. Heathcliff is one of those characters that you KNOW you should hate, but gosh darnitt, you love him anyways because he's just so beautifully broken. Heathcliff has to be one of my favorite characters ever.

Jane Eyre is actually my favorite classic novel. It's really well-written, and Jane is a strong female heroine, which is something that wasn't seen a lot in the time that this was written. Yay for female empowerment! :) I really hope you enjoy both Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights.

As much as it shames me to say, I haven't read Pride and Prejudice yet! It's been sitting on my shelves for ages, and I've picked it up a few times, but I just never got around to finishing it. But, it's a Jane Austen novel, so you know it's going to be amazing. Hope you enjoy that one too!

I haven't heard of Fractured Light, The Next Door Boys, or Birthmarked before, so I will definitely be looking forward to your reviews on them! The cover for Birthmarked is so pretty though! :)
