Eden didn't expect Az. Not his saunter down the beach toward her. Not his unbelievable pick-up line. Not the instant, undeniable connection. And not his wings.
Yeah.
Now trapped between life and death, cursed to spread chaos with her every touch, Eden could be the key in the eternal struggle between heaven and hell. All because she gave her heart to one of the Fallen, an angel cast out of heaven.
She may lose everything she ever had. She may be betrayed by those she loves most. But Eden will not be a pawn in anyone else's game. Her heart is her own.
And that's only the beginning of the end.
In this enthralling debut, Leah Clifford knows how to give her own take on Heaven, Hell, angels and everything in between. Eden fell for Az. Hard. And she got betrayed, hard. But Eden turns out to be more than just a girl. Her Touch is intoxicating to humans and possibly deadly, so she keeps a low profile. Until a battle seems to unfold between Heaven and Hell, and Eden is caught right in the middle.
This book had me hooked from the first pages. The fact that Eden and Az had an instant connection didn't bother me in the slightest because Clifford took the time to carefully build their relationship after that. She built a world in which I was completely absorbed and I was literally asking out loud why the book ended the way it did - completely unexpected ending!! And what happened.. NOO! Leah, why did you do that?
I'll be preordering my copy of book 2 now, so if you'll excuse me..
My overall rating:
A marvelous debut that has me in its spell - or should I say, Touch?
Glad you enjoyed this. I can't wait to get it. Great review :)
