July wrap up

Another month over! Even though it's supposed to be summer, July didn't really bring a lot of sunshine. We actually had a record amount of rain this month, well over double the amount of rain in the typical July month! This made that I haven't read as much as I wanted (I prefer to read outside at any time - but if it rains.. Well, my books won't survive).

I managed to read a fair amount of books this month; 14! This makes my total of this year 83 books read. According to my Goodreads Reading Challenge widget, I'm 25 books ahead of schedule and that's so cool! Some stats: I have read 83 books this year, which equals 28,818 pages read so far in 2011. I'm almost at 30,000!

Here's this month's wrap up video :)

Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Firebrand by Gillian Philip

July has been nice to me in terms of reading! Many great reads, with The Girl in the Steel Corset being my favorite. There's just something about that book! I also loved The Throne of Fire - Riordan's sense of humor is fabulous and I laughed out loud several times. I also read my first John Green book and it was really really good. I can't wait to read more of his work!

To be honest, the only disappointing title that I read was Falling Under. It was disappointing because I expected something different, and I expected more from it. It was very well written though, so don't let me hold you back in picking it up :)

Note on The Host; the book is 600+ pages long and takes forever to get through. I'm determined to make it to the end though! I'm currently about halfway now and I hope that I can finish before August ends..

What did you read this month? What book was your favorite? Did you have any disappointing titles?
