In My Mailbox (9)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. Even though she's not doing IMM's til the new year, I'd thought I'd continue and show you what books I got in this week.

...And that's when it fell off in my hand by Louise Rennison. This is book 5 in the Georgia Nicolson Series and I loved that series when I was younger - I believe I read the first book when I was around 13 or 14? I have no idea, but I thought it was hilarious and read the second and third book too, I believe, but it stopped after that because the library didn't have them when I came in. They were always out when I wanted to get them.. Anyway, I bumped into almost the entire series in the English bookstore this week and I decided to pick this one up and order the others through Bookdepository in the new year. This is what Bookdepository says about the book: Brilliantly funny, teenage angst author Louise Rennison's fifth book about the confessions of crazy but lovable Georgia Nicolson. Louise is a star on the HarperCollins teenage list. 11.20 a.m. This is my fabulous life: the Sex God left for Whakatane last month and he has taken my heart with him. 11.25 a.m. Not literally of course otherwise there would be a big hole in my nunga-nungas. 11.28 a.m. And also I would be dead. Which quite frankly would be a blessing in disguise. 12.00 p.m. It is soooo boring being brokenhearted! !but Georgia doesn't remain brokenhearted for long: frequent snogging extravaganzas with old flame, Dave the Laugh, and the arrival of jelloid-knee-inducing Italian Stallion, Masimo, mean that Georgia has her work cut out to be the composed sex-kitten that she aspires to be. Follow Georgia's hilarious antics as she desperately muddles her way through teenage life and all that it entails: make-up disasters, rapidly expanding nunga-nungas, school -- urgh, unsympathetic friends, highly embarrassing family (and pets) and, of course, BOYS.

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Another one I saw at the English bookstore and I was THRILLED to find it there! I was planning on picking this up in the new year as it was on my wishlist for a while now, so I picked it up as soon as I saw it there. YAY!! Can't wait to read it. I love the cover - it's fascinating! I want to read the story behind it.. From Bookdepository: Nora's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, she is drawn to him against her better judgement. But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and knows more about her than her closest friends. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For Nora is right in the middle of a centuries-old battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and sooner or later, she's going to have to pick sides...

The Immortals boxset by Alyson Noël, containing the first three books: Evermore, Blue Moon and Shadowland. I picked this boxset up on the Black Friday sale that Amazon held a couple of weeks ago. The package was lost for a couple of weeks since my tracking stopped working, so I was thrilled when it finally showed up this week. This is what Amazon says about the first book, EvermoreSeventeen-year-old Ever survived the car crash that killed her parents, younger sister, and their dog. Now she lives with an aunt in Southern California, plagued not only by survivor guilt but also by a new ability to hear the thoughts of all around her. She tries to tune out all these distractions by keeping her hoodie up and her iPod cranked loud, until Damen, the cute new boy at school, convinces her to come out of her shell. Damen, however, is frighteningly clever—and has the strange ability to produce tulips from nowhere and disappear himself at critical moments.

More books to read! Whoohoo! I'm really excited to read all of these. It's a good thing I have too much free time so I can actually read them all instead of just looking at their pretty covers in my book closet :)

That's all that I got in my mailbox this week, what did you get in yours?

This post is prescheduled, I'm not actually doing this at Christmas - so I'll be probably eating way too much delicious food when you read this. Happy holidays!
